About Amanda
With a Bachelor’s in Social Work from Carthage College (Wisconsin) and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Denver (Colorado), I began my career as a clinical therapist working with incarcerated women. During my time with the criminal justice nonprofit Intervention/BTS and the Jefferson County Jail in Colorado, I witnessed firsthand the ongoing challenges many women face in accessing comprehensive healthcare.
Over the next five years, my role evolved, and in 2016 I was appointed Executive Director of BTS. In this leadership position, I focused on advocating for equitable access to quality healthcare and fair treatment for underserved populations.
In 2019, I relocated to New York to serve as the Director of Behavioral Health at Bridging Access to Care, overseeing substance use and mental health clinics in Brooklyn. When the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020, the social work field was forced to adapt rapidly. I shifted my focus to addressing the surge in domestic violence cases during a time when service utilization was declining nationwide. Later that year, I became the Interim Director of Domestic Violence Services at Henry Street Settlement, a New York City–based settlement house, where I oversaw operations for a 28-family shelter serving survivors of domestic violence and their children.
Following the height of the pandemic, I deepened my focus on the integration of holistic and mindfulness-based approaches to trauma recovery. I transitioned into private practice to support others in navigating relational trauma and personal growth through a more integrative, whole-person lens.
Today, I guide clients through their own processes of self-discovery—whether that involves unraveling childhood or relational beliefs, navigating major life transitions, or reconnecting with their authentic selves. In 2024, I became a Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapist to offer KAP treatments for individuals struggling with treatment-resistant mental health conditions. Through the use of psychedelics, we work to enhance neuroplasticity and help the brain “re-wire” unhelpful or limiting narratives.
Alongside my clinical practice, I have served as an adjunct clinical professor at the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work since 2017. I currently hold roles as Clinical Director at ResilienceLab in New York and as Clinical Consultant and Supervisor for Behavioral Treatment Services in Colorado. Supporting the growth and development of emerging professionals in the field remains one of my greatest passions.
